How to make compost quickly? Bokashi composter — modern home fermentation
Home recycling of food scraps is a way to get free nutrients for your plants. At skwer.pl I tested how the Bokashi system performs in daily use and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with a garden or flat.
What is Bokashi and does it smell?
It is a Japanese method of anaerobic fermentation. Thanks to EM bacteria and airtight buckets, waste “pickles” instead of rotting. The composter does not smell bad — only a light fermenting odour. It is ideal for kitchens, offices, or restaurants.
How to use “Bokashi tea”?
Liquid collected from the tap is a powerful concentrate — so-called “black gold”. Diluted 1:100, I use it to regenerate plants in winter gardens and orangeries. The whole process takes just two weeks.
Which composter to buy?
