Palms in modern architecture
In my projects palms act as natural focal points — their form and exotic character define modern gardens with a touch of southern calm. In projects such as Hahs Dental Clinic and Cynamon Garden Cafe I show that they are a lasting investment in spatial structure.
Which palms to choose?
The hardiest is the windmill palm (Trachycarpus fortunei), which tolerates down to -15°C. For interiors I often choose kentia or date palm.
Care and overwintering
I water XXL palms rarely but deeply. In the ground, protecting the growing point with horticultural fleece is essential. From my experience at the Hilton in Świnoujście I know that properly wrapped palms can survive a Polish winter even without a heating cable, though in private projects I always plan electrical infrastructure for full plant safety.
Logistics and purchase
At skwer.pl I work with trusted suppliers (e.g. Rajski Ogród, Tropiart). I provide professional transport and planting in specialist substrate, so from day one the palm becomes the foundation of your green architecture.
