Folga Resort, Mrzeżyno | A forest enclave for family leisure

Public Spaces | 2023

A project continuing a long-term collaboration with the Client, whose goal was to create an enclave for family getaways, embedded in the natural coastal landscape.

  • Landscape Strategy: Wishing to emphasize the unique character of the site, I highlighted the presence of the tall, old pine trees and supplemented them with lower-storey vegetation, preserving its coastal and forest character. The concept also included planting young pines, with the intention of preserving the image of this place for future generations.
  • Intimacy and Privacy: Around 72 summer cottages I designed vegetation with a relaxed, forest character. The use of ornamental grasses, heathers, and heaths underlines the resort atmosphere, giving guests privacy without cutting them off from nature.
  • Linear Structure: The introduction of avenues of native hornbeams and pergolas with climbing plants brought order to the space and gave it an architectural framework, consistent with the Folga brand aesthetic.
  • Year-round Appeal: Thanks to species selection with varied textures, the Resort retains its decorative qualities throughout the year, offering guests relaxation in an aesthetic and soothing environment.
