Residential garden in Wapnica
Residential | 2026
The main concept for the project in Wapnica (near Międzyzdroje) was to create a modern plant setting for a newly built residence, while minimizing ongoing maintenance requirements. The starting point was an inventory of the existing conditions and the adaptation of the design to the existing coniferous tree stand (larch / Larix sp.).
Structure and species selection:
- Integration with the old-growth trees: The existing larches were treated as natural dominants, defining the vertical structure of the garden. The low-planting scheme was composed to emphasize their silhouettes and integrate them with the new planting layer.
- Water management and aesthetics: Full irrigation automation allowed for the introduction of species with higher habitat requirements. The foundation of the design is hydrangeas and roses, complemented by the dynamic textures of ornamental grasses and diverse perennials. The result is a garden with high seasonal variability and an intense color palette.
- Representative entrance zone: In the shaded northern part of the property, a large group of rhododendrons was designed. The evergreen structure of these shrubs ensures an attractive building frontage throughout the year, creating a spectacular color accent during the flowering period.
- Technology and maintenance: The use of modern support systems and precise zoning of vegetation according to their requirements produced a "low maintenance" garden without sacrificing a rich, flowering form.
