The main goal of the renovation of this twenty-year-old garden was the transformation of a neglected space into a stable, natural ecosystem. The key design challenge was the selection of the existing tree stand and the adaptation of plantings to the conditions under the wide canopies, with a deliberate decision to forgo an automatic irrigation system.

Management of the existing tree stand: We began with a detailed dendrological and architectural inventory. The greatest asset of the site was identified as the old-growth trees forming a microclimate and the forest zone anchoring the visual axis. Specialist arboricultural work allowed the natural forms of the trees to be revealed and the garden interior to be brightened, while fully preserving the privacy provided by the mature, tall hedges.

Composition and species selection:

• Geometric motif: Existing evergreen spherical forms were supplemented with new plantings of the same type. They create a repeating, rhythmic motif that organizes the garden's structure regardless of the season.
• Resilient plantings (Dry Gardening): In the spots most exposed to sun and drying out, the lawn was replaced with perennial borders and ornamental grasses. The species selection supports local biodiversity (pollinator plants) and fits the park character of the project.
• Slope stabilization: The slopes around the building were planted with grasses with fluffy flower heads, composed to complement the color of the stone façade. Underplanting with evergreen ivy (Hedera helix) ensures ground stabilization and maintains the aesthetic of the surfaces even in early spring.
• Hydrangeas: Along the hedge lines, zones were set aside for various hydrangea cultivars, which are the only part of the garden requiring periodic watering, creating colorful patches against the deep greenery.
